PENGARUH PEMBERIAN KOMPRES AIR HANGAT TERHADAP RASA NYAMAN DALAM PROSES PERSALINAN

Abstract

Giving warm water compresses is one method of fulfilling the need for comfort by reducing pain in mothers in labor. The use of warm compresses for tense and painful areas is considered to be able to relieve pain. The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of giving warm water compresses on comfort during the labor process at PMB Nur Asmalindar, Subulussalam City. This type of research is a quasi-experimental pre-post test, with a sample of 30 mothers in labor with total sampling. This study was conducted from August to September 2020 using the observation method. Data processing was carried out by editing, coding, tabulating, processing and cleaning univariately and bivariate using the chi-square statistical test. The results of the univariate analysis showed that most of the comfort in the labor process before being given a warm water compress to the mother was in the uncomfortable category of 24 people (80%). Most of the comfort in the labor process after being given a warm water compress to the mother was in the comfortable category of 22 people (73%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was an effect of giving a warm water compress on comfort in the labor process with a p-value of 0.000. It is hoped that mothers can increase their knowledge about the effect of giving a warm water compress on comfort in the labor process at PMB Nur Asmalindar, Subulussalam City in 2023.
